To see Mandarin Chinese (Traditional script) in PHPBB3, you need to download:
http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/trans ... l_script)/
Decompress the downloaded package, AND OPEN THAT FOLDER, you will see 2 sub-folders
-styles
-language
then OPEN that 2 sub-folders, you will see more sub-sub-folders
Just put the folder mandarin_chinese_(traditional_script)_1_0_1/styles/subsilver2/imageset/zh_cmn_hant
into your phpBB root directory/styles/subsilver2/imageset/
There's still many other items in the the folder mandarin_chinese_(traditional_script)_1_0_1 sould put to the same name folder in the phpBB root directory
then go to the Administration Control Panel-->SYSTEM-->Language packs
you will see 正體中文 there
You can set Administration Control Panel-->GENERAL-->Board Settings-->Default language to 正體中文
But if you prefferred English, it's OK. Every registered user can choose his preffered language in his own user control panel.

Re: Site Updates and News
The PHPBB3 was more more complicated than PHPBB2.
So my own disscuss and teaching board site still stayed on PHPBB2......

Re: Site Updates and News
Phpbb3 is a lot more powerful than phpbb2. It also has better admin tools, like the ability to delete spam and user all at the same time. Plus, phpbb group no longer supports phpbb2 so it's better to upgrade to the latest version.

I intentionally set the board so that people can't change their user name, but I'll change the setting so you can change your user name this time.

Or you can change my user name as 陳凱劭 in Administration Control Panel instead of changing setting.catherine wrote:I intentionally set the board so that people can't change their user name, but I'll change the setting so you can change your user name this time.
Re: Site Updates and News
phpBB3 has been upgraded to 3.3.13. Working version of this forum is live where it should be at slyen.org/forum.
Process was a lot more troublesome (huge understatement) than I liked because different versions of phpBB needed different versions of php. phpBB was upgraded from 3.0.8 to 3.0.14 on the old server, data prepped and database cleaned up at the old server. I ran tests to upgrade to 3.3.13 using two versions of USBWebserver before upgrading to 3.3.13 on the live (and new) server with latest version of php.
I'll start doing tweaks on the forum, including allowing new user registrations once again.
